Welcome to Logo Foundry’s comprehensive FAQ page! We’ve expanded our services to offer a full suite of digital solutions, from crafting your brand’s identity to building your online presence and driving targeted advertising. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions across all our offerings.

Logo Design Services

How long does a logo design usually take? From the moment you make a purchase for your custom design, you will begin by filling out our straightforward design brief questionnaire. This questionnaire helps us understand your specific needs and preferences. Once you submit the completed design brief, our process to deliver customized design concepts can take as little as two days. However, we guarantee that you will receive your initial design concepts within ten business days. Typical business logo design projects usually take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete, though more decision-makers on the client’s side can extend this timeframe.[1]

Are your designs made from scratch? Yes, absolutely! 100% of our designs are custom-made by professional design artists. When you choose to work with us at Logo Foundry, you are guaranteed to receive a design that is completely tailored to your specific needs. Unlike other design websites, we offer a unique experience by focusing on creating exceptional and professional designs. We are dedicated to crafting designs that you will be proud to showcase as the face of your company. We create designs from the ground up, specifically tailored to each brand, without the use of clip art or templates.[1]

What is the difference between a concept and a revision? A concept is the initial design presented to you after you have completed the design brief. A revision is an update to that originally presented concept design.

Do I own the rights to the design that Logo Foundry delivers to me? Yes, you do. Once the design is finalized and all payments are completed, you will own full copyrights to the final designs, with no restrictions on usage.[1, 2] If you desire, we can provide you with a copyright transfer document to formalize this ownership.[2] You have complete freedom to use, modify, and alter the design we deliver to you in any way you see fit. This includes printing, displaying, and distributing the design for any purpose.[2] It’s important to note that purchasing a logo does not automatically transfer copyright ownership; copyright remains with the designer unless explicitly transferred through a separate written copyright assignment agreement.[2]

If you intend to trademark the design, you will need to go through the trademarking process with a trademark attorney. Should you wish to have the ® Registered Trademark symbol added to your logo design, please contact us at sales@logofoundry.com. We will require documentation confirming that you have completed the trademarking process before we can add the symbol to your design.

Can I upload attachments for you to see? Absolutely! You can upload any attachments that will help us better understand your design preferences directly through our design brief. When you fill out the design brief, you will find a section where you can upload these attachments for us to utilize. Additionally, if you have any important attachments related to your design concept, you can also email them to us at sales@logofoundry.com.

What is Logo Foundry’s logo design process? Our custom logo design service follows a five-step process: Discovery, Design & Refine, Presentation, Revisions & Review, and Final Revisions & File Submission.[1] The Discovery phase is crucial, involving in-depth questions about the client’s business, its core values, competitive landscape, and how the brand should be represented to the world. This also includes understanding what the client likes or dislikes about their own brand and competitors’ branding.[1, 3]

What logo file formats will I receive and what are their uses? We provide multiple file formats to ensure your logo’s quality and versatility across various platforms and sizes.[1, 4]

What are the typical costs and payment structures for logo design? Logo Foundry typically operates on a 50/50 payment plan for all projects, requiring a 50% deposit to commence work, with the final amount invoiced upon project completion.[1] Budget considerations are tailored, with custom proposals developed based on the unique needs and functionality required for each project.[3, 5] Costs can vary depending on the complexity of the design.[3, 5]

Web Design Services

How much does a custom website cost? Logo Foundry specializes in creating custom websites specifically tailored to the unique needs of each business. Proposals are customized for every project, ensuring that the design and functionality align perfectly with the client’s objectives.[6, 7] While costs vary significantly based on the complexity and required functionality, many sites typically fall within the $3,000-$5,000 range, though this can be higher or lower depending on project scope.[6, 7]

How long does it take to build a website? The speed of project completion is influenced by factors such as the client’s input during initial stages, their availability for feedback, and the readiness of content. More complex sites naturally require more development time.[6]

Will my website be mobile-friendly? Yes, absolutely. Logo Foundry designs and rigorously tests websites to ensure they appear great and function seamlessly across a variety of devices, guaranteeing mobile-friendliness.[6, 7] Responsive web design is fundamental for users accessing the site on different devices, enabling easy readability, intuitive navigation, and smooth scrolling without needing to adjust screen settings.[8, 9]

Can I update the website myself once it’s built? Yes, once a website is built, clients are empowered to update it themselves.[6, 7] Logo Foundry remains available for ongoing support via email for any assistance required down the road.[6]

Do you provide ongoing website maintenance and security? Yes, regular website maintenance is crucial for ensuring security, stability, reliability, attracting new visitors, and boosting traffic.[7, 10, 11] Logo Foundry offers ongoing maintenance packages and typically provides initial complimentary support, such as one month post-development.[10] Key maintenance tasks include content updates, software/plugin updates, data backups, performance monitoring, and broken link checks.[11, 12] Security protocols include HTTPS implementation, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), regular security audits, and DDoS protection.[11, 13, 12]

Who writes the content for the site? Clients are typically responsible for providing their website content, as they are the experts on their own business. However, Logo Foundry can recommend professional copywriters if assistance is needed to clean up or create original content.[6]

What happens if my site breaks? Website breakdowns can occur due to various factors, including temporary problems, issues with web hosting, security breaches (e.g., hacking), or other technical errors.[7, 11] Logo Foundry assists clients by analyzing the root cause of such problems and delivering effective solutions.[7, 11]

Ad Design Services

How do you determine the objectives and target audience for an ad campaign? Effective ad design always begins with a clear objective, whether it is to build brand awareness, generate leads, drive purchases, or solicit quote requests.[14, 15, 16] A thorough understanding of the target customer and their demographics (including age, sex, income, and region) is essential, along with identifying the specific message or emotion the ad should convey.[17, 16] It is also critical to articulate the value proposition and the desired call to action, such as contacting the business, making a purchase, or downloading a resource.[16, 18] Analyzing competitors’ branding helps to identify opportunities for differentiation and ensures the ad stands out in the market.[17]

What ad formats do you offer across different digital platforms? An ad format refers to the way an advertisement is presented, whether through videos, display ads, or other creative approaches. Different formats are more effective for various products or platforms, depending on consumer preferences and platform dynamics.[14]

What are the typical costs for ad design and campaign management? Digital marketing budgets commonly range from 7-10% of overall revenue, though this can extend to 5-25% depending on strategic goals.[19, 17] For Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising, clients can expect to allocate 5-20% of their monthly ad budget, translating to costs ranging from $100 to $10,000 per month.[19, 17] Average PPC ad spend for small to mid-sized companies is approximately $15,000-$20,000 per month.[20, 21] Agency pricing models for digital marketing services vary, including hourly rates (typically $75-$200+ per hour), monthly retainers ($2,000-$10,000+), project-based pricing ($3,000-$50,000+), and performance-based pricing, where payment is tied directly to results.[22, 10, 13, 9] For PPC management specifically, fees can be a flat rate (ranging from $1,500-$10,000 per month) or a percentage of the total ad spend (typically 10-20%).[22, 1, 4, 13]

What creative specifications and deliverables should I expect? Designers must understand where the ad design will be used, as the chosen medium directly impacts the level of detail and resolution required.[17, 18] Deliverables typically include specific file formats and sizes, often prepared to printer’s specifications or platform requirements.[16, 18] Creative development also considers company slogans or taglines, preferred fonts (e.g., serif, sans serif, calligraphy, display), and color palettes, including any colors to avoid.[17, 23] Incorporating copywritten material, with clear indications of what should be highlighted (headlines) versus less prominent information (legal disclaimers), is vital.[16, 18] Adherence to established brand guidelines and style, including tone, language, and imagery, ensures consistency and reinforces brand identity.[16, 18]

Web Hosting Services

What is web hosting and why is it important? Web hosting is the service that provides the storage space necessary for a website’s files—including photos, videos, text, and code—to be accessible on the Internet. It is often compared to the land upon which a house is built, where the web host provides space on a server for the website’s files.[24, 25] Every website requires a host server and a unique domain name, which is the website’s actual name (e.g., google.com), and points to a numerical IP address. Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transferred when users view a website, while disk space is the total storage available for all website files.

What types of web hosting do you offer, and which is right for my business? The optimal choice of web hosting depends heavily on a business’s specific requirements, including desired performance, security levels, and flexibility for growth.[13, 26]

How do you ensure server reliability, uptime, and security? Server reliability and uptime are paramount for any online business. A recommended uptime score is 99.5%, with anything below 99% considered unacceptable. Top providers often aim for 99.9% (approximately 8.7 hours of downtime per year) or even 99.99% (less than 1 hour per year), which significantly impacts a website’s online availability. Security is equally critical to prevent damage to a business. A reputable hosting provider should offer comprehensive security features, including regular malware/virus scans, SSL certificates (especially vital for e-commerce sites to protect sensitive data), robust firewalls, continuous monitoring systems, and DDoS protection. It is also important for clients to understand the hosting company’s accountability in the event of an outage and whether charges would be suspended under such circumstances.

What about bandwidth, disk space, and scalability? Clients should ensure that their hosting plan provides sufficient bandwidth and disk space not only for current needs but also for anticipated future growth, allowing for “wiggle room” without needing to switch hosts prematurely. If a client plans to host multiple websites, it is important to confirm that the chosen provider allows for multiple add-on domains. Additionally, understanding the provider’s policies for scaling resources—up or down—as business needs change is crucial for long-term flexibility.

Do you provide website backups and customer support for hosting? Regular backups of both website data and databases are essential to prevent potential data loss. Clients should inquire about the frequency of these backups. In terms of support, 24/7 technical assistance is ideal, and it is beneficial to know the provider’s average response and resolution times. A well-documented help center further facilitates self-help and quick problem-solving.[13, 26] Finally, clients should inquire about any satisfaction guarantees or trial periods offered by the hosting provider.

Business Services for Facebook

How do you help set up and optimize a Facebook Business Page? Facebook remains an important platform for small business growth, impacting both online presence and real-world engagement. It is important to distinguish between a personal Facebook profile, which is the primary account type, and a business page, which is created from a personal profile and is free to set up. To create a Facebook Page, individuals log into their personal account, click the “Pages” flag icon, and then add the business name, relevant categories (up to three), and an optional but recommended bio to describe the brand. Comprehensive business details, including location, operating hours, and contact information, should be provided.[27] Setting up Facebook Business Manager and linking existing pages and ad accounts to it is a crucial step for centralized management.[27] It is also important to add administrators with appropriate permissions to manage the page effectively.[27] Facebook can serve as a valuable customer service channel, and businesses should be prepared to offer good response times, as customers highly appreciate prompt replies. Regarding posting frequency, for pages with fewer than 10,000 followers, posting approximately five times per month is recommended, as more frequent posts can surprisingly lead to less engagement. Businesses should regularly track their page’s performance using Facebook’s built-in data insights to gauge effectiveness.

How do Facebook Ads work, and what targeting options are available? Facebook Ads continue to be effective for businesses, even with challenges like Apple’s App Tracking Transparency feature.[15, 22] The ad creation process involves several key steps: choosing a clear objective (such as brand awareness or conversions), selecting the target audience based on demographics, likes, and interests, deciding on ad placement, setting a daily or campaign budget, and picking an appropriate ad format.[15, 22, 27, 28] Users are targeted based on their geographic location, demographics, and profile data, including their likes and interests.[15, 22] While there is no strict minimum budget for Facebook ads, a monthly investment of $1,000-$2,000 is recommended as a test budget to ensure sufficient data for campaign optimization.[15, 22] Optimization involves monitoring return on investment, tracking the ad’s Relevance Score (rated on a scale of 1 to 10), and observing increases in website traffic, phone calls, or purchases.[15, 22] It is generally advised to avoid pausing Facebook ads overnight, as this can cause them to lose optimization, requiring them to re-optimize when restarted.[15, 22] Ad fatigue is a factor, with some ads losing effectiveness after a few weeks, while others can run longer, depending on the target audience.[15, 22] Businesses can use the Facebook Ad Library to research and view competitors’ active advertisements.[15, 22] Creating custom audiences based on website traffic, visits to specific pages, or the time elapsed since a user’s last visit allows for highly targeted campaigns.[27, 28] Installing the Facebook Pixel on a website is crucial for tracking user actions, such as purchases or sign-ups, after they have seen an ad.[27, 28] Logo Foundry can also assist in creating split tests and testing various elements of ad copy, including calls-to-action, text, and images, using tools like Facebook Creative Hub.[27, 28] The Facebook Attribution tool can be used to measure the impact of ads across different channels and devices.[27, 28]

What are Facebook’s ad policies and review process? Facebook’s strict Advertising Standards and Community Standards govern the types of ad content and behavior allowed on the platform.[5, 29] These policies prohibit shocking, sensational, excessively violent, adult content, profanity, and deceptive practices like fraud or scams.[5, 29] The ad review system primarily relies on automated tools and typically completes within 24 hours, though some cases may take longer. Ads can also be re-reviewed even after they have gone live.[5, 29] Violations of these policies can lead to ad rejection or even restrictions on Business Accounts and their associated assets (ad accounts, Pages, or user accounts).[5, 29] Even lower-quality ads that do not explicitly violate policies may experience impacted performance.[5, 29] If an ad is rejected or an asset is restricted, clients have the option to edit the ad to comply with policies or request another review through Account Quality.[5, 29]

What is the recommended budget for Facebook Ads? While there is no strict minimum budget for Facebook ads, a monthly investment of $1,000-$2,000 is often recommended as a test budget to ensure sufficient data for effective optimization.[15, 22] For e-commerce businesses without a lot of historical sales data, a minimum of $2,000 per month is generally recommended to generate enough sales or “add to cart” data for optimization.[15, 22]

Business Services for Apple

What is Apple Business Connect and how does it benefit my business? Apple Business Connect is a completely free tool designed to help businesses connect with Apple customers and foster growth. Its benefits are extensive, including enhanced brand recognition and trust through features like Branded Mail and Tap to Pay on iPhone, improved customer engagement via custom actions and showcases, and the ability to maintain up-to-date business information across various Apple services such as Apple Maps, Siri, Safari, Calendar, and Spotlight. The platform also supports team management, allowing businesses to add and manage team members with various roles and privileges. It is highly compatible, usable on all computers, tablets, and phones running macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, or Android. To get started, businesses need an Apple Account used for business purposes and must complete a one-time company verification process.

How do you manage business listings on Apple Maps? Businesses can leverage Apple Business Connect to manage their location details on Apple Maps, including photos, operating hours, and other relevant attributes. The process to add or claim a location involves signing in with appropriate privileges, selecting “Locations,” entering the brand name or address, accurately positioning the location on the map, and providing essential details such as default language, display name for Apple Maps, primary category, phone number, and an optional website address.[12, 30] Businesses can also manage their operating hours.[12, 30] Verification of an existing location can be done by verifying the entire company (a process that takes up to five business days) or through a phone call for locations already listed on Maps.[12, 30] Once verified, businesses gain the ability to upload photos, add “Actions” (such as booking or ordering links), and create “Showcases” to highlight specific offerings.[12, 30]

How does Tap to Pay on iPhone work, and can my brand be displayed? Tap to Pay on iPhone enables businesses to accept contactless payments directly on an iPhone, eliminating the need for additional terminals or hardware. This feature supports payments from contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Apple Watch, and other smartphones utilizing digital wallets. To use this functionality, businesses require a supported app from the App Store. Crucially, businesses can link their verified brand in Apple Business Connect to their Tap to Pay merchant ID. This allows them to customize the icon and name displayed during the payment process, ensuring brand consistency at the point of sale.

What is Apple Branded Mail and what are its requirements? Apple Branded Mail is an upcoming feature, anticipated with iOS 18.2 in late 2024, designed to enhance email authenticity and professionalism by displaying verified brand logos directly in recipients’ inboxes.[29, 20] To utilize this feature, businesses must meet specific technical requirements: their domain needs to have DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) configured to an “quarantine” or “reject” enforcement level, along with proper DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) and SPF (Sender Policy Framework) setups.[29, 20] Additionally, an Apple Business Connect account, a commercial email domain name, and an Apple-verified domain, brand, and logo are necessary.[29, 20] The setup process involves configuring DMARC, creating an Apple Business Connect account, uploading a branded logo that meets Apple’s specifications (e.g., JPG, PNG, or HEIF format, minimum 1024px, square aspect ratio), adding and verifying the domain or email address, and finally submitting for verification.[29, 28, 20, 31] This feature is expected to lead to increased email open rates, improved engagement, and enhanced domain security.[29, 20]

How do you assist with Apple App Store presence and guidelines? For businesses seeking an Apple App Store presence, adherence to Apple’s stringent App Store Review Guidelines is paramount. Apps are reviewed against comprehensive technical, content, and design criteria. These guidelines include strict prohibitions against objectionable content, such as violence, sexually explicit material, discriminatory content, or false information. Apple also has a zero-tolerance policy against any attempts to “cheat the system,” including tricking the review process, stealing user data, copying other developers’ work, or manipulating ratings. Violations can result in the app’s removal from the store and expulsion from the Apple Developer Program. Submission requirements include thorough testing for crashes and bugs, ensuring all app information and metadata are complete and accurate, providing full access for review (e.g., active demo accounts or credentials), ensuring backend services are live, and including detailed explanations for any non-obvious features or in-app purchases. Apple also provides various resources for marketing (e.g., App Store badges, photography, video, product images) and integration with Apple Wallet and Apple Pay.

Business Services for Google

What is Google Business Profile Q&A and how should I manage it? Google Business Profile Q&A is a public feature within Google Maps that allows users to ask and answer questions about a business, visible on both Google Maps and the local Knowledge Panel. Both business owners and other Google Maps users can provide answers. Businesses can proactively ask and answer their own common questions, which serves to provide more information to searchers and can reduce the volume of inquiries directed to customer service. To receive notifications for new questions, businesses must enable email notifications, though this functionality may cease for accounts managing over 100 locations. It is crucial for businesses to be proactive in managing their Q&A section to prevent unanswered questions or inappropriate responses from other users, which could negatively impact their online reputation. Google enforces specific content policies for Q&A, prohibiting advertising, spam, inappropriate language, and the sharing of personal information. Users can report any violations.

How do you optimize my business for Google Maps and local search? Google Business Profile, formerly Google My Business, offers numerous features vital for local search visibility. The Q&A section, along with other business details, is prominently displayed in a business’s Google Business Profile on Google Maps and the local Knowledge Panel. Setting up, verifying, and meticulously editing Google Business Profiles is of utmost importance, especially for multi-location businesses or those operating in service areas. Given Google’s dominant market share in search, local search is paramount for businesses with physical locations or defined service areas.[26, 15] An optimized Google Business Profile listing is the primary vehicle for visibility in these localized search results.

What are the different types of ad targeting in Google Ads? Google Ads provides sophisticated targeting methods for video campaigns, categorized into audience targeting and content targeting. Audience targeting allows for reaching specific user groups based on demographics (age, gender, income, parental status), detailed demographics (e.g., college students, homeowners), interests (affinity segments, custom affinity segments, life events, in-market segments, custom segments), user data segments (based on past interactions), and Customer Match (utilizing first-party online and offline data). Content targeting defines where ads appear, including specific placements (channels, videos, apps, websites), topics (broad content categories), keywords (words or phrases related to content), and devices (computers, smartphones, TV screens).

How do SEO and PPC work together, and what are your SEO services? Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising through platforms like Google Ads serves as a powerful strategy to supplement SEO efforts, driving relevant traffic and offering immediate results with a high return on investment. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) involves improving your web pages and online presence to enhance your site’s ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) for specific keyword phrases. Logo Foundry’s SEO services encompass a wide range of activities, including content marketing, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), link building, local SEO, organic SEO, SEO consulting, SEO packages, and technical SEO.

What are the typical costs for SEO services? The cost of SEO services varies significantly, from $500 to over $20,000 per month, depending on the scope, deliverables, and expected return on investment.[19, 22, 23, 32, 4, 6, 13, 9, 15, 17, 16] Ethical SEO agencies cannot guarantee specific rankings due to the constantly evolving nature of search engine algorithms, and businesses should be wary of any claims to the contrary. Typically, it takes 3-9 months to observe new rankings and gradual increases in traffic from SEO efforts.[26, 15] Ongoing SEO is crucial to maintain rankings, as discontinuing efforts can lead to a rapid loss of positions.[26, 15] It is imperative to avoid “black-hat” techniques, such as buying links, as these can harm rankings and result in severe penalties.[26, 15]
